Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Colchester) – Sep Start

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a warm, supportive primary school in Colchester from September. The role offers a chance to work closely with teachers and pupils, developing practical classroom experience in a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily classroom support to the class teacher.
• Assist with behaviour management and create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Support pupils across the primary age range with individual and group activities.
• Help prepare and organise teaching resources.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children in a UK primary school (placements accepted).
• Relevant TA training or qualifications (desirable).
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable).
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional child‑related references.

Required skills

• Day rate of £90‑£100 depending on experience.
• Full‑time hours from 08:30 to 15:45.
