Technical Architect – Hybrid (3 days onsite) – Newcastle

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to join a high‑performing engineering team in Newcastle. The role is hybrid, with three days on‑site each week, and involves shaping large‑scale digital transformation solutions for public and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into clear technical designs and architecture documentation.
• Define functional and non‑functional requirements, including security, scalability and performance.
• Guide decisions on infrastructure, integrations, and software design across the delivery lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and testing teams.
• Conduct design reviews and present architectural solutions to stakeholders at all levels.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect or Senior Technical Lead.
• Strong understanding of architecture principles, design patterns and governance.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (5 years continuous UK address history).
