Unit Lead – Residential Care (Thimbleby Court)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Unit Lead for Thimbleby Court, an outstanding care home in Horncastle. The role combines hands‑on resident care with leadership of the care team, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the care team on the daily rota, delivering hands‑on care to residents.
• Oversee care planning, reviews and assessments, maintaining compliance with CQC standards.
• Mentor, train and develop staff, fostering a supportive and respectful culture.
• Collaborate with the Home Manager, Deputy Manager and other department heads to improve service delivery.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to safeguarding and health & safety policies.

Required profile

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a care home or similar setting.
• Strong understanding of CQC regulations and safeguarding procedures.
• Passion for delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 4/5 and experience in dementia care is desirable.
