VALOUR Field Officer – South West (East)

About the role

The VALOUR Field Officer will support the new UK‑wide veteran support programme, VALOUR, delivering coordinated services across health, housing and employment for ex‑Service personnel in the South West region. Based in Tidworth, the role involves extensive travel across Somerset, Dorset, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon and Wiltshire, working directly with veterans, their families and partner organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain partnerships with local authorities, VCSE organisations and other stakeholder networks.
• Gather and analyse data to inform service improvement and regional performance reporting.
• Act as the primary liaison between Defence and community stakeholders on veteran‑related matters.
• Facilitate policy implementation and delivery at regional and local levels.
• Represent the VALOUR programme at ministerial and media events as required.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience working with veterans, public‑sector organisations or community groups.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement and networking abilities.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to travel frequently across the assigned region.
• Commitment to the UK Armed Forces Covenant and veteran welfare.
