Warehouse Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Warehouse Assistant to join a busy logistics team in the professional audio‑visual sector. The role involves handling goods inbound and outbound, maintaining stock accuracy and supporting local deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Pick and prepare customer orders from digital or printed picking lists.
• Pack products securely and label shipments for dispatch.
• Stage orders for courier collection and load vehicles.
• Unload deliveries, inspect for damage and record discrepancies.
• Enter received stock into the warehouse management system.
• Store items safely, conduct stock counts and apply FIFO where required.
• Drive company vehicles for local deliveries, perform safety checks and assist with loading.
• Operate forklifts and pallet trucks (where certified) and maintain warehouse housekeeping.
• Respond to internal and external enquiries regarding stock and deliveries.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or logistics environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic IT competence and confidence using warehouse management systems.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to assist across all warehouse functions.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (counterbalance or reach forklift licence preferred).
• Pallet truck operation.
• Warehouse Management System (WMS) usage.
• Barcode scanner operation.
• Full UK driving licence.
