Weekend Catering Assistant (Permanent)

About the role

Join the catering team of a high‑end private boarding school located near Dorking in the Surrey Hills. As a Weekend Catering Assistant you will help produce and serve freshly prepared meals for around 300 boarders, working in a modern kitchen equipped with a full‑size wood‑burning pizza oven.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals during weekend shifts (10 am‑7 pm or 12:30 pm‑7 pm).
• Support store management, stock rotation and inventory control.
• Carry out washing up, cleaning and general kitchen hygiene duties.
• Adapt to additional hours as required for the right candidate.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a busy catering or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Background in an independent school, restaurant or up‑market contract catering is desirable.
• Own transport is essential due to the remote location.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.
