Year 5 Primary Teacher – Fixed-Term (Sept 2026 – Apr 2027)

About the role

Reed Education is partnering with a friendly primary school in Luton to recruit a Year 5 Class Teacher on a fixed‑term contract from September 2026 to April 2027. This position offers the chance to lead a Key Stage 2 classroom, deliver engaging lessons and support pupils through an important stage of their primary education.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all pupils.
• Assess, monitor and report on pupil attainment and progress.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents to optimise outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, or as a confident early‑career teacher.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to delivering inspiring, engaging lessons.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families quickly.
