Aerodynamic Performance Engineer

About the role

Join Airbus to help define the next generation of aircraft by mastering complex aerodynamics, generating and analysing data that directly impacts aircraft operations, safety and fuel efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform state‑of‑the‑art computer modelling and simulation of aerodynamic behaviour.
• Define, attend and analyse wind‑tunnel tests at world‑leading facilities.
• Define, attend and analyse flight tests, steering decisions in real‑time using live telemetry.
• Combine numerical simulation, wind‑tunnel and flight‑test data to develop aerodynamic performance models.
• Secure design intent of future aircraft by modelling performance of new technologies and configurations.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of aerodynamics, including lift and drag generation.
• Ability to communicate complex technical messages clearly to varied audiences.
• Experience leading technical teams or subcontractors in an international environment.
• Proficiency in Python (or similar) for data analysis.

Required skills

• Python programming for data analysis.
• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling of 2D/3D geometries.
• Wind‑tunnel test planning and data interpretation.
• Flight‑test data analysis and real‑time decision support.
• Knowledge of CS‑25/FAR‑25 certification standards.
