Analytical Chemist

About the role

We are seeking an Analytical Chemist to join our established laboratory team in Basingstoke. You will work in a highly technical environment supporting production, R&D and customer projects, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
• Support process control and product release within manufacturing.
• Develop and improve analytical methods for new and existing products.
• Perform equipment calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical support to production teams and prepare samples for external laboratories.
• Maintain accurate documentation, certificates of analysis and compliance with quality standards.
• Contribute to laboratory housekeeping, safety initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Assist in training colleagues across laboratory and production functions.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent experience) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
• Strong problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Self‑motivated, flexible and able to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard software such as Excel.
