ASD Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Hackney)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a KS1 pupil with autism spectrum disorder in a vibrant primary school in Hackney. You will help the child access the curriculum, engage in classroom activities, and develop socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 support to the ASD pupil throughout the school day.
• Implement tailored strategies to promote academic progress and independence.
• Monitor and record the pupil’s progress and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to create a calm, structured learning environment.
• Support the pupil’s social and emotional development during classroom and break times.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with ASD or other SEN needs.
• Patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
• Ability to commute to Hackney and work on‑site full‑time.

Required skills

• Experience supporting children with ASD.
