Assembly Operator

About the role

We are seeking an Assembly Operator to join a reputable manufacturing firm in Gateshead. The role involves assembling electrical components, performing basic inspections and supporting the production line on a full‑time, temporary basis.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret basic drawings and prototypes to assemble components.
• Carry out electrical assembly, wiring and secure parts using hand tools.
• Perform basic quality inspections and functional testing of assembled items.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet visual and functional standards.
• Manually transport materials within the manufacturing area.

Required profile

• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills on the job.
• Confidence to take on additional responsibilities when needed.
• Prior experience with electrical assembly is beneficial but not essential.
