Assembly & Test Technician

About the role

We are partnering with PHINIA, a global leader in fuel and electrical systems, to hire an Assembly & Test Technician for their Stonehouse site. The role involves setting up, calibrating, and maintaining equipment within an allocated production cell, while supporting operators to meet quality, safety, and output targets.

Key responsibilities

• Set, check, and calibrate all gauging equipment in the cell.
• Manage start‑up, resetting, running, and shut‑down of machines, fixtures, and tooling.
• Proactively fault‑find and resolve issues affecting safety, quality, or output.
• Perform routine maintenance, including coolant and filtration checks.
• Train operators and verify completion against training plans.
• Ensure adherence to quality procedures and promptly address quality problems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as scrap reduction and OE improvements.
• Escalate customer quality concerns to the Product Line Quality team.

Required profile

• Recognised Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Level 2 also considered).
• Experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Motivated team player with strong communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, calm under pressure, and detail‑oriented.
