Process Operative

About the role

We are seeking a Process Operative to join the Process Department at our Severnside Dairy, part of Müller Milk & Ingredients. The role ensures smooth operation of raw milk intake, fresh milk and cream processing, as well as related export and chemical handling areas. You will also perform laboratory testing to record and report product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Check and record all relevant paperwork for each shift.
• Sample and test raw milk and cream products, documenting results.
• Load tanker trucks and manage product flow.
• Liaise with other production departments to coordinate activities.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and operate equipment safely.
• Maintain assets, maximise output, reduce waste and support cost‑saving initiatives.
• Undertake any additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Experience in a food‑manufacturing environment, preferably dairy.
• Understanding of quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
• Ability to work a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights).

Required skills

• Laboratory testing of dairy products.
• Sampling of raw milk and cream.
• Operation of dairy processing equipment.
• Loading and handling of tanker trucks.
