Asset Operations Specialist (12‑month Fixed Term)

About the role

We are seeking an Asset Operations Specialist to join our Leeds team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave. This hybrid role offers a balance of remote and office work while supporting our high‑service distribution business.

Key responsibilities

• Execute purchase and order‑fulfilment activities to improve inventory turnover and ensure on‑time supplier delivery.
• Manage order status, maintain accurate shipping and delivery data in internal systems, and update post‑PO information.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, holding them accountable for delivery commitments and driving process improvements.
• Negotiate pricing, provide quotes to the sales team, and support customer opportunities.
• Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and transportation teams to guarantee timely receipt and dispatch of products.
• Handle non‑conforming inventory, including disposition and in‑process failures.
• Communicate order status and resolve issues with planners, sales, and customer operations.
• Assist with inventory ageing, fill‑rate management, and stock rotation or liquidation as needed.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified purchasing professional.
• Experience in purchasing, supplier delivery performance, order management and logistics.
• Highly organised, inquisitive and able to work collaboratively within a busy team.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
