About the role
The Assistant Director of Finance will shape the financial direction of a leading social housing provider in Somerset. Reporting to the CFO, you will combine strategic insight with operational excellence while working across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a business‑partnering team to provide financial control and best practice to stakeholders.
- Manage the rent‑setting function, ensuring statutory compliance and value for money.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles across the organisation.
- Maintain internal compliance, audit processes and risk‑management arrangements.
- Use data‑driven insights to influence business decisions and improve performance.
- Present complex financial information clearly to boards, committees and non‑financial audiences.
- Champion a culture of accountability and commercial awareness.
Required profile
- Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA.
- Proven experience in senior financial leadership within a regulated environment.
- Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex data effectively.
