About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering operational excellence, driving sales, and ensuring outstanding customer service at the Samsonite Designer Outlet in Ashford.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply Smiles selling standards, use product knowledge and company resources to maximise sales and build customer loyalty.
  • Assist with stock management, pricing, loss prevention and coordinate stock movements with the central retail team.
  • Support recruitment, training, coaching and scheduling of staff while maintaining payroll budget compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies, cash handling, opening/closing procedures and store cleanliness.
  • Maintain visual merchandising and window displays to global standards and support promotional launches.

Required profile

  • Previous retail experience, preferably in premium or travel goods.
  • Ability to work under pressure, stand for long periods, lift up to 15 kg and use ladders.
  • Computer literacy and a sales‑oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a passion for travel and the brand.
