Assistant Swimming Pool Manager

About the role

The Assistant Swimming Pool Manager will support the day‑to‑day operation of the resort’s pool and water‑based facilities, ensuring a safe, clean and engaging environment for guests and staff. Reporting to the Pool Manager, you will help maintain high standards of health, safety and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily operation of all pool and water‑feature areas, ensuring adequate lifeguard coverage and rota planning.
• Monitor poolside standards, including cleanliness, water quality, presentation and equipment readiness.
• Carry out risk assessments, water testing regimes and maintain accurate compliance records.
• Supervise, coach and provide performance feedback to lifeguards and pool team members.
• Handle guest queries, complaints and feedback to continuously improve the guest experience.
• Maintain stock control of chemicals, equipment and uniforms; assist with budgeting and cost control.
• Support audits, inspections and emergency response procedures.
• Deputise for the Pool Manager when required.

Required profile

• Valid NPLQ or equivalent lifeguard qualification.
• Proven experience in pool or leisure facility management.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and pool safety operating procedures.
• Ability to lead a team, manage shift briefings and resolve day‑to‑day operational issues.
