About the role
The Associate Laboratory Technician will support the R&D laboratory at MedPharm, ensuring a clean, compliant environment and assisting with day‑to‑day operations. This role is essential for maintaining GxP standards and facilitating smooth project workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization according to GxP and MedPharm SOPs.
- Dispose of general and clinical waste following SOPs.
- Assist with procurement, receipt, and inventory of chemicals, consumables, and test/reference materials.
- Prepare and pack shipments for R&D projects.
- Support equipment lifecycle activities: onboarding, qualification, maintenance, repair, withdrawal, and retirement.
- Manage the FEQP tracker, report issues, and support audit readiness.
- Provide equipment and operational support to laboratory staff and study personnel.
- Assist in updating SOPs and COSHH assessments.
- Report deviations and safety concerns promptly.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and health‑and‑safety compliance.
Required profile
- Interest in science and the pharmaceutical industry.
- Methodical, highly organised and able to work independently.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task, manage time efficiently and prioritize workload.
- Willingness to learn and undergo training as required.
Required skills
- IT literacy.
- Knowledge of GxP regulations and SOP adherence.
- Familiarity with COSHH assessments.
- Basic laboratory equipment handling and maintenance.
