Azure Infrastructure Engineer – 12 month fixed‑term contract

About the role

Isio is seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will be based in Croydon (with options for Birmingham or Belfast) and follows a hybrid work model. You will help design, implement, and maintain Azure and Microsoft 365 solutions that support both internal users and external clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and deploy new resources across Isio’s Azure tenants, handling alerts, VM upkeep, and best‑practice configurations.
• Develop and manage automation tooling to streamline deployments and routine maintenance.
• Implement and sustain monitoring solutions such as DataDog to track performance and availability.
• Support the M365 stack, including Entra ID, Intune, Defender for Endpoint, and the admin portal.
• Improve security posture by enforcing standards, preparing audit evidence, and assisting with accreditation processes.
• Lead small to large projects that introduce or enhance cloud services.
• Act as an escalation point for the service desk, diagnosing root causes and driving resolutions.
• Document all implemented resources in Confluence or a comparable knowledge base.

Required profile

• Proven experience with core Azure services (Entra ID, App Services, Storage, Backups, Conditional Access, Front Door, Load Balancers).
• Hands‑on knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Intune, and Defender for Endpoint.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting environments.
• Strong background in automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Power Automate, Tines, N8N, Zapier).
• Experience using Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms, including ARM/Bicep templates and YAML pipelines.
• Understanding of cloud‑native/serverless components, containerisation, and App Service Plans.
• Ability to work with monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance issues.
