Bank Recruiter – Flexible Staffing for Childcare Nurseries

About the role

Family First is seeking a Bank Recruiter to build and maintain a reliable pool of flexible staff for its network of over 100 nurseries across the UK. Working closely with Nursery Managers, Area Managers and HR Partners, you will ensure each location has timely access to qualified cover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for flexible bank workers, from sourcing to onboarding.
• Develop and sustain relationships with hiring managers to understand short‑notice and ongoing staffing needs.
• Proactively source candidates via social media, job boards, CV databases and direct outreach.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date live bank of ready‑to‑deploy staff, tracking availability and compliance.
• Match staff to shifts quickly, balancing worker preferences with nursery requirements.
• Monitor recruitment KPIs such as bank fill rates and agency reliance.
• Champion diversity, equality and inclusion throughout the hiring process.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a recruiter with a track record of sourcing and placing quality candidates.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to juggle multiple vacancies and high‑volume or fast‑turnaround roles.
• Experience in a staffing bank, temp desk or high‑volume flexible recruitment environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of regulated sectors such as childcare, education or healthcare is a plus.

• Direct sourcing techniques including social media recruiting and job‑board utilisation.
• Candidate pipeline management and talent mapping.
