About the role
Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a mainstream secondary school in Hackney. This full‑time, contractor position supports a student with complex emotional and academic needs throughout the school day. The role is ideal for candidates with SEN or behaviour support experience who want to make a positive impact in education.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support for a student with challenging emotional and academic requirements.
- Manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviour, ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Supervise the student across all school activities, including lessons, breaks and transitions.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement personalised behaviour strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress.
Required profile
- Previous experience in SEN, behaviour support or a similar role.
- Experience working with challenging behaviour in an educational setting.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Two professional references.
