Board Trustee (Treasurer) – Volunteer Governance Role

About the role

Swansea Council for Voluntary Service (SCVS) is seeking up to four new volunteers to join its Board of Trustees, with a particular focus on a Treasurer. The role is unpaid and offers the chance to shape the strategic direction of a leading charity supporting the voluntary sector in Swansea.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and governance for SCVS.
• Set and monitor the charity’s policy, objectives and financial strategy.
• Oversee financial management, budgeting and reporting as Treasurer.
• Represent the interests of the voluntary sector to government and policymakers.
• Collaborate with the Executive Team, led by the Chief Executive, to ensure effective operational delivery.

Required profile

• Commitment to the charitable mission of supporting voluntary organisations.
• Interest in board governance and strategic decision‑making.
• Desire to contribute to a diverse and inclusive board, including representation of younger members and those with lived experience of minoritising power structures.
