About the role
Ivy Lane Primary School is looking for a dedicated Breakfast Club Assistant to provide a safe, welcoming environment for children before the school day begins. The role supports children’s personal, social and emotional development through play and interaction.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children during the breakfast club (7:30 am‑8:30 am, Monday‑Thursday).
- Prepare and serve food, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support children’s personal, social and emotional needs.
- Assist with the daily running of the club, including set‑up and clean‑up.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow safeguarding procedures.
Required profile
- Committed, flexible and able to work 4 hours per week during term time.
- Willingness to obtain a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate if not already held.
- Good communication skills and a caring attitude towards children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff.
Required skills
- Food Hygiene (Level 2) – or willingness to train.
