Business Intelligence Developer – Power BI & SQL

About the role

Babel is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to design, develop and maintain BI solutions that turn raw data into actionable insights. You will work closely with business stakeholders to create dashboards, data models and integration processes that support data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
• Create and maintain dimensional data models following best practices.
• Develop, optimise and maintain complex T‑SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Design, implement and support ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Generate reports with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience developing Business Intelligence solutions.
• University degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
• Result‑oriented with a proven track record of delivering high‑quality BI artefacts.

• Power BI for data visualisation and advanced analytics.
• Microsoft SQL Server and T‑SQL for complex query development.
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL processes.
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for report generation.
• Dimensional modelling and design of analytical structures.
• Working knowledge of relational databases.
• Azure Data Factory (desirable).
• SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) (desirable).
• Python for data analysis (desirable).
• Basic knowledge of Machine Learning concepts (desirable).
• Data Warehouse design and implementation (desirable).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (desirable).
• Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD (desirable).
