Capital and Lease Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Capital and Lease Accountant to join a leading healthcare support services organisation in London. The role is fixed‑term (approximately six months) with the possibility of becoming permanent, and you will work within a well‑established finance team handling large‑scale operational and commercial services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Reconcile fixed asset accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Manage assets under construction (AUC) accounts in line with company policy.
• Update lease schedules, record right‑of‑use assets and lease liabilities in the general ledger.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations for capital and lease accounts.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities and assist with annual audit processes.
• Liaise with procurement and internal stakeholders on capital spend, lease updates and renewals.
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in capital accounting and lease accounting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as D365 or similar.
• Strong reconciliation and financial systems knowledge.
• Advanced Excel and data‑management abilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive, organised and able to meet strict deadlines.
• Studying towards or qualified in ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is advantageous.
