Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Strategic Finance Leader

About the role

Harper May Ltd is seeking a hands‑on Chief Financial Officer to join the executive team. Reporting to the CEO and Board, the CFO will shape the financial architecture of a fast‑growing media and events business and turn finance into a strategic decision‑making engine.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement financial strategy, business planning and rolling forecasts to support executive decisions.
• Build, lead and develop a lean finance team, establishing standards, processes and career paths.
• Oversee month‑end close, statutory reporting, audit liaison and compliance across all entities.
• Manage working capital, cash forecasting and banking relationships to fund growth without cash strain.
• Partner with the CEO and Board on acquisition targets, partnerships and capital‑allocation decisions.
• Implement scalable financial controls, governance frameworks and tax planning, including corporation tax and group restructuring advice.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• At least ten years of senior finance experience, including significant time as CFO or Head of Finance.
• Proven experience building finance teams and embedding best‑practice processes in growing organisations.
• Experience in media, events, entertainment or other project‑and‑contract‑driven sectors is valuable.
• Comfortable engaging with Boards, external investors and banking partners at senior level.
