Claims Associate Director – Construction Professional Indemnity

About the role

This senior position offers an experienced professional indemnity (PI) claims specialist the chance to lead a high‑value portfolio of construction PI claims. You will work closely with senior claims experts, handling complex losses for Tier 1 UK contractors while developing a recognised specialist reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of construction PI claims from notification through to resolution.
• Handle complex, high‑value claims involving Tier 1 contractors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, insurers, solicitors, adjusters and other stakeholders.
• Provide strategic guidance and technical support on major losses and coverage issues.
• Support clients during negotiations and resolution strategies.
• Ensure claims are processed efficiently and comply with regulatory and market requirements.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the construction claims practice.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience handling Professional Indemnity claims.
• Strong technical knowledge of complex loss handling within the UK insurance market.
• Proven ability to manage high‑profile client relationships and large corporate accounts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Desirable: background in construction PI claims, or PI exposure from architect/engineer work; experience in broker, insurer, legal practice or loss‑adjusting environments.
