Class 1 ADR Tanker Driver – 4 On/4 Off Shift

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Class 1 ADR Tanker Driver to join a leading chemical manufacturing business. The role involves transporting hazardous chemicals across the UK on a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern, ensuring safety, compliance and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Transport hazardous chemicals in bulk tankers to customer sites throughout the UK.
• Maintain full compliance with ADR regulations and all transport legislation.
• Conduct pre‑, during‑ and post‑journey vehicle and equipment inspections.
• Record accurate driving, delivery and compliance data.
• Observe Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Use and maintain appropriate PPE in line with company procedures.
• Provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with planners and colleagues.
• Follow company Health & Safety, ISO and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• ADR qualification covering at least Classes 8 & 9.
• Previous experience driving tanker vehicles.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Clean or near‑clean driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of UK road networks and route planning.
• Professional, reliable and safety‑focused attitude.

• Vehicle inspection and maintenance.
• Compliance with transport legislation.
