Class 2 Refuse Driver – Hounslow

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Class 2 Refuse Driver to join our waste and recycling team in Hounslow. The role involves operating a refuse collection vehicle and working closely with a crew to collect household and commercial waste across the borough. The position starts at 6:00 am, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects.
• Follow designated collection routes and schedules.
• Work with the refuse collection crew to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Comply with road traffic legislation and health & safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork.
• Provide courteous service to members of the public.

Required profile

• Valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
• Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and vehicle safety regulations.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous waste collection experience desirable but not essential.

• Competitive hourly rate of £18.97.
