Client Manager

About the role

Join a well‑established accountancy practice in Stockport as a Client Manager. You will manage a diverse portfolio of corporate and sole‑trader clients, delivering high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory services while supporting senior leadership and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Review statutory accounts for companies and sole traders.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.
• Oversee personal tax compliance, including annual returns.
• Deliver technical and client‑facing advice under guidance from senior managers.
• Maintain accurate financial statements in line with relevant standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, managing deadlines and queries.
• Support senior managers across accounts, tax, VAT, payroll and company secretarial work.
• Assist clients with accounting software implementation and internal controls.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing your own client portfolio.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts and tax with a commitment to CPD.
• Self‑motivated, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
