Community Engagement Officer

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Community Engagement Officer to help build stronger, happier neighbourhoods in Watford. You will work with residents, local groups and partners to plan events, support initiatives and amplify community voices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver community events and activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, community groups and local partners.
• Support residents in shaping local services and projects.
• Assist community organisations in accessing funding, training and development opportunities.
• Promote projects and share positive community stories.
• Collect feedback and measure the impact of engagement activities.
• Help people improve digital skills and confidence.
• Champion inclusion to ensure everyone can participate.

Required profile

• Friendly, personable and confident communicator.
• Organised with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Comfortable using digital tools and Microsoft Office.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What we offer

• Permanent contract, 37‑hour week.
• Salary £26,650‑£30,000 per year.
• 28 days annual leave (pro‑rated).
