Compliance Officer – Social Housing

About the role

We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join Peaks & Plains Housing Trust in Macclesfield. The role ensures that our portfolio of over 5,000 social housing properties complies with health, safety and regulatory standards, protecting residents, staff and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor statutory compliance programmes across the housing stock.
• Oversee inspection schedules, contractor performance and remedial actions.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and produce timely reports for senior management.
• Manage associated budgets, ensuring value for money and cost‑efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to resolve compliance issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a compliance role within social housing or a comparable sector.
• Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and achieve compliance targets.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret reports and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building capabilities.
