Compliance Technologist

About the role

We are seeking a Compliance Technologist to support food safety, quality, compliance and new product development within a well‑established food manufacturing business. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will maintain safety systems, ensure legal and customer requirements are met, and help deliver successful NPD projects.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to customer complaints and food‑safety concerns.
• Manage supplier approval processes, specifications and technical documentation.
• Maintain compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, TACCP and VACCP standards.
• Support internal and external audits, traceability exercises and mock recalls.
• Review and maintain raw‑material and finished‑product specifications.
• Produce nutritional information and legally compliant product labels.
• Manage non‑conformances, corrective actions and lead pest‑control processes.
• Support factory trials, product testing and product launches.
• Collaborate with Production, Commercial, Engineering and Warehouse teams.
• Deputise for the Technical Manager when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years in a technical/compliance role within FMCG food manufacturing.
• Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of food‑safety and compliance systems, including BRCGS, HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, allergens and food‑labelling legislation.
• Experience supporting audits, supplier approvals and specification management.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
