Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry (Falkirk CMHT)

About the role

The NHS Forth Valley is seeking a part‑time Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to join its Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Falkirk East. This senior clinical position offers the opportunity to work within a supportive, trauma‑informed service that values holistic patient care and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adult patients across the community.
• Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews and service development initiatives.
• Participate in teaching, training and supervision of junior doctors and allied health professionals.
• Engage in patient safety, audit and continuous quality improvement projects.
• Support the delivery of evidence‑based, tiered interventions for emotional dysregulation and personality disorders.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• MRCPsych (or equivalent) qualification.
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Psychiatry, or within six months of obtaining it.
• Registration on the GMC Specialist Register (for portfolio pathway applicants).
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing academic and professional development.
