Contract Manager – Repairs & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead the repairs and maintenance team for a leading social housing contractor in Hastings. You will be responsible for ensuring high‑quality, commercially focused services that meet housing standards and resident expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the reactive repairs and maintenance programme across the portfolio, meeting turnaround times and performance targets.
• Manage a team of supervisors and tradespeople, ensuring compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations.
• Develop and maintain procedures for handling complaints, disrepairs and Environmental Health Notices.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, contractors, clients and residents.
• Control the maintenance budget, authorising spend within agreed limits while maximising cost‑effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contract management within social housing or property maintenance.
• Strong understanding of housing quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse operational team.
