Cover Supervisor – £120 per day – High Wycombe

About the role

Academics is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across High Wycombe. This flexible, paid‑weekly position offers £120 per day and can start immediately or from September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee pre‑set lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
• Ensure pupils remain on task and complete work assigned by the teacher.
• Maintain classroom behaviour in line with school policy, applying a firm yet fair approach.
• Support a range of subjects as required, without the need for lesson planning or marking.

Required profile

• Valid, up‑to‑date DBS check (or enrolment on the update service).
• Possess a university degree OR prior experience as a cover teacher/supervisor.
• Ability to quickly build rapport with students and manage classroom behaviour.

• Strong classroom management techniques.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
