Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Wigan)

About the role
Veritas Education is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in the Wigan area. This flexible, part‑time position allows you to gain classroom experience while supporting teachers and students.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver pre‑set lesson plans when the regular teacher is absent.
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a focused learning environment.
- Support students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring work is completed.
- Provide feedback on student progress to the teaching staff.
Required profile
- Experience working with young people (e.g., schools, coaching, youth work).
- Strong behaviour management abilities.
- Confidence to lead a classroom independently.
- Reliability, flexibility and professionalism.
- Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the update service.
