Data Privacy & eDiscovery Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Data Privacy & eDiscovery Assistant to join our Technology team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract, based in Loudwater, Buckinghamshire. You will support the Data Privacy Lead in managing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and eDiscovery activities, ensuring compliance with UK and EU data‑protection regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct data protection impact assessments.
• Liaise with the Information Commissioner’s Office and other external stakeholders.
• Maintain the Record of Processing Activities and related documentation.
• Manage escalated privacy enquiries, customer queries and complaints.
• Identify compliance gaps, analyse issues and recommend improvements.
• Assist with Subject Access Requests to meet statutory deadlines.
• Track personal data breach incidents and ensure investigations follow procedure.
• Support OneTrust vendor DPIA, risk‑management and privacy system compliance.
• Coordinate GDPR paperwork with suppliers and internal teams.

Required profile

• Knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview and eDiscovery tools.
• Proven administrative experience in a fast‑paced environment, preferably retail or hospitality.
• Ability to handle large volumes of paperwork and meet defined timelines.
• Strong relationship‑building skills across all business levels.
• Excellent IT proficiency, including the Microsoft Office suite for reporting and data manipulation.
