Debt Capital Markets Associate / Senior Associate

About the role

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader's debt capital markets practice offers expert advice on debt capital markets, structured finance transactions and derivatives, as part of an international team. It is recruiting experienced associates for its London practice, reporting to the Group Manager. The role is 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm, with up to 40% of time working from home.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain good working knowledge of the legal principles behind the work, keeping up with legal developments and attending relevant training
• Manage projects to high quality standards, meeting deadlines and responding to requests in a timely way
• Work closely with clients, understanding their commercial drivers, sector and risks, and actively develop new client relationships
• Be financially aware, paying attention to budgets, costs and timely completion of time records
• Take ownership of career development, seeking performance feedback and addressing skills gaps
• Act as a source of advice to colleagues and share knowledge and expertise

Required profile

• At least three years' post-qualification experience (or equivalent)
• Experience gained within a top-tier firm is required
• Strong academic background
• Excellent written communication and drafting skills
• Ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team
