Director of Investments and Pensions

About the role

Monzo’s Wealth team is looking for a Director of Investments and Pensions to shape the strategy and growth of its investment and pension offering. Reporting to the Wealth General Manager, you will translate the overall wealth vision into a clear commercial agenda that drives customer acquisition, retention and revenue across the UK and future EU markets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and size new commercial opportunities, including product launches, partnerships and market expansions, and build robust business cases to secure senior stakeholder approval.
• Own the monthly commercial growth plan, targeting acquisition, transfer, engagement and retention metrics for investments and pensions.
• Provide investment and pension expertise for EU expansion, defining localisation requirements, partner implications and commercial trade‑offs.
• Develop pricing strategies and accompanying business cases to optimise profitability while meeting regulatory standards.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, engineering, compliance and marketing to deliver measurable outcomes in a complex, regulated environment.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in investments, pensions or wealth management, preferably within a fast‑moving digital or fintech environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of building and executing growth strategies.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to construct compelling business cases and financial models.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and align cross‑functional teams.
• Deep understanding of UK pension regulations and experience navigating EU market considerations.
