Disrepair Surveyor (Interim)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to join a social housing organisation on an interim basis. You will manage complex property cases from initial inspection through to final completion, ensuring all works meet legislative, contractual and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of housing disrepair, structural repair and insurance‑related works.
• Conduct detailed property inspections, diagnose building defects and produce technical specifications.
• Prepare schedules of work, cost estimates and oversee repair programmes from instruction to completion.
• Carry out pre‑ and post‑inspections to monitor quality, contractor performance and value for money.
• Collaborate with legal teams on disrepair and litigation matters.
• Liaise with residents, contractors, surveyors and other stakeholders to resolve complex repair issues.
• Maintain accurate technical reports and case records.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing housing disrepair cases within social housing, local authority or residential property environments.
• Strong knowledge of building construction, pathology and property maintenance.
• Familiarity with housing legislation, disrepair protocols and building safety requirements.
• Excellent report writing, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Relevant qualifications in Building Surveying, Construction or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
