ECM Director – Capital Markets

About the role

The ECM Director is a senior position responsible for assisting clients in raising capital in the equity markets and providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other financial transactions. Working closely with the Institutional Banking team, the role acts as a strategic advisor, formulates investment strategies and supports clients throughout the deal lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage investment banking experience to enhance M&A execution and capital‑raising capabilities.
• Meet revenue and financial targets by building and maintaining a pipeline of deals.
• Ensure client solutions comply with internal risk, return and ethical standards.
• Identify and anticipate market changes and a wide range of risks (industry, sovereign, currency, etc.).
• Mentor junior bankers and support staffing models for business needs.
• Develop client relationships by delivering sophisticated financial solutions and market insights.
• Provide expert advice on regulatory, financial and strategic issues related to corporate finance transactions.
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold Citi’s reputation and ensure compliance with laws and policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in investment banking, including M&A and capital‑raising.
• People‑management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related Business Administration field (Master’s preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment.
