EHS Engineer (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive EHS Engineer on a temporary basis to strengthen environmental, health and safety compliance within a dynamic manufacturing site. The role will focus on clearing a backlog of risk and COSHH assessments while supporting the broader EHS management system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the completion and review of risk assessments and COSHH assessments across site operations.
• Develop, maintain and improve risk assessment and COSHH registers.
• Support the operation of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems.
• Participate in incident investigations using structured methodologies such as 8D.
• Assist with internal EHS audits, compliance monitoring and legal register maintenance.
• Maintain EHS records, registers and required documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness planning, drills and audits.
• Deliver EHS training to site personnel.

Required profile

• NEBOSH Certificate (or actively working towards it).
• Proven experience conducting risk and COSHH assessments in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK EHS legislation.
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Desirable: experience with hazardous chemicals, ISO 50001, and an HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.
