Employee Relations Partner

About the role

The Employee Relations Partner will manage a personal caseload of employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policy. You will act as a trusted advisor to managers, employees and trade union representatives, delivering timely investigations, advice and support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employee relations cases including investigations, sickness, discipline, grievance, performance, redeployment, flexible working and retirement.
• Administer HR processes such as fixed‑term contract extensions, terminations, honoraria, FOIs/DSARs and post amendments.
• Provide advice, guidance and training on employment matters and ensure correct use of HR policies.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including trade union representatives and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate case records, produce data analysis and reporting to support HR objectives.
• Conduct exit interviews, analyse feedback and support job evaluation processes.
• Facilitate project meetings, formal hearings, appeals and Employment Tribunals.
• Stay up‑to‑date with legal developments and best practice, and pursue personal professional development.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of HR legislative and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience managing a varied employee relations caseload within agreed timescales.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
• Attention to detail and ability to comply with legislation and policy.
