Employment Adviser – Support Jobseekers in Spennymoor

About the role

The Employment Adviser will work on the Restart Scheme, a government initiative helping long‑term Universal Credit claimants find and keep work. Based in Spennymoor, you will be the frontline contact for jobseekers, guiding them through training, applications and employer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with jobseekers to identify barriers to employment and develop personalised action plans.
• Arrange attendance at relevant training courses such as customer service, security, hospitality, personal development and IT literacy.
• Assist participants with CV writing, job applications and interview preparation.
• Liaise with local employers to uncover suitable job opportunities.
• Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness of the service within the community.

• Motivated to support individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
