Engineering Graduate Programme (Backend)

About the role

LSEG's Engineering Graduate Programme is a 12-month development opportunity for recent graduates interested in back-end development within global financial markets technology. The programme starts in September 2027 and places each graduate in a division from day one, with a permanent position.

Required profile

• Final year undergraduate or Masters student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, having completed all course requirements by August/September 2027, or a fresh graduate of class 2026.
• Strong interest in technology, shown through studies, extracurriculars, work experience or personal projects.
• Demonstrable interest in financial markets.
• Curiosity for data and ability to analyse information to draw conclusions and propose solutions.
• Focus, resilience and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, and ability to collaborate with others.
• Rights to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the programme.

Required skills

• Interest in back-end development.
• Familiarity with one of Java, Python and SQL databases.

The recruitment process includes an application and resume, a technical and coding assessment, an immersive online assessment, a video interview and a half-day virtual assessment centre. Candidates should apply once, by 16 November, and apply early as candidates are considered on a rolling basis.
