About the role
We are seeking an inspirational English Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join a respected secondary school in Blackburn from September 2026. This full‑time, long‑term contract offers the chance to embed yourself in a vibrant department and make a lasting impact on students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons for KS3 and KS4.
- Assess student progress, provide targeted feedback and prepare learners for GCSE examinations.
- Maintain a focused, well‑behaved classroom environment.
- Collaborate with the Blackburn English faculty to align with departmental goals.
Required profile
- Full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related field.
- Significant experience teaching English up to GCSE level.
- Commitment to a long‑term placement and active participation in the school community.
- Current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one immediately.
