About the role
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking qualified English teachers for short‑term, full‑time placements across secondary schools in Medway. The role runs from September to December 2026, offering a chance to gain varied classroom experience while supporting students during a crucial part of the academic year.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit different classroom environments and student needs.
- Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.
- Manage behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with school staff to support student progress.
- Uphold safeguarding and wellbeing standards at all times.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge of English.
- Adaptability to work across multiple school settings.
- Commitment to inspiring and engaging students.
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS disclosure and any required overseas police clearances.
- Legal right to work in the UK.

- Strong knowledge of English language and literature.
- Ability to design lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
- Effective classroom management techniques.
- Clear communication and feedback skills.
