Family Nurse – Children & Families (Full‑time, Glasgow)

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a full‑time Family Nurse to deliver an intensive, preventative home‑visiting programme for young parents from pregnancy until the child’s second birthday. The role is based at Drumchapel Health Centre and follows a Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Develop therapeutic relationships with eligible young families and work intensively with complex situations.
• Recruit and engage seldom‑heard pregnant young women into the Family Nurse Programme (FNP).
• Deliver the licensed FNP intensive home‑visiting curriculum to improve pregnancy outcomes, child development and family economic stability.
• Act as the named person for each client, providing consistent support and guidance.
• Attend mandatory education sessions over an 18‑month period, using a hybrid online and face‑to‑face model.

Required profile

• Ability to work full‑time (36 hours per week) on‑site at Drumchapel Health Centre.
• Willingness to attend all mandatory education dates and complete the Professional Diploma in Family Nursing.
• Commitment to the FNP’s core outcomes and to working with seldom‑heard families.
