Finance Assistant - TV Production

About the role

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team supporting high‑profile TV productions. You will gain hands‑on experience in production finance, budgeting and forecasting while working in a hybrid model (three days in the London office, the rest remote).

Key responsibilities

• Code, check and allocate invoices and purchase orders across multiple divisions.
• Manage the invoice authorisation process and resolve related queries.
• Review weekly freelance cost sheets and ensure accurate production cost coding.
• Record and report daily, weekly and monthly production costs.
• Prepare journals, accruals, pre‑payments and other month‑end accounting entries.
• Assist in producing monthly management accounts, reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Support budget and forecast preparation, reconciling actual spend against budget.
• Take ownership of fixed production contracts and ensure correct accounting treatment.
• Complete monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and allocate overtime and expense costs.
• Review travel expenditure and allocate costs correctly.
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation.
• Contribute to finance system improvements, including ERP and production accounting implementation.
• Maintain process documentation and promote best practice across finance activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Assistant or in a similar finance role.
• Studying towards or holding AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualifications, or a willingness to continue professional studies.
• Strong understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Good knowledge of finance processes and purchase‑order compliance.
